Charlie's favorite teacher, her music teacher has assigned everyone to find the “song for their life.” With so many genres and songs, how can she find just one. Intertwined into Charlie’s story is also the story of Maria Callas, the famous opera singer and Luka, her friend that disappears for a time. The words and the illustrations are a great complement to each other and incorporate the anguish of middle school using primary colors to distinguish between the storylines.
