Walk into any well-run classroom and you will find a timer on a desk, mounted to a whiteboard, or projected on a screen. I have tested dozens of classroom timers across elementary, middle, and special education settings, and I keep coming back to one truth: a good timer changes the energy of a room. When I switched to online teaching in , I quickly realized my laptop webcam couldn’t show a worksheet clearly. Students kept squinting at blurred math problems and tilted worksheets.
